Dr McNair has been a Consultant Gastroenterologist for over 19 years based at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in South East London.
He manages a broad range of conditions affecting the intestine and liver. Particular areas of interest include Crohn’s disease and colitis, irritable bowel syndrome and liver disease.
Dr McNair also has extensive experience in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy and is clinical lead for endoscopy services at The Queen Elizabeth hospital. He was Secretary of the endoscopy section of the British Society of Gastroenterology from 2009 to 2012 and was the BSGE representative on the Royal College of Anaesthetists working party developing guidelines for ensuring safe sedation practice for healthcare procedures. Dr McNair has also been Regional Gastroenterology Training Programme Director. In 2009 he was given a Bronze National Award for his research and work for national and regional organisations.
